Understanding Watercolor Pencil Art-A workshop with Gary Wyatt

Gary Wyatt and his wife have been long-time residents of Salem, Ohio, where Gary has honed his artistic skills, specializing in Colored Pencil. Though experienced in oils and acrylics, Gary has found his true passion in Colored Pencil, citing its unique versatility and depth. “I use scumbling, a technique which eliminates any sharp lines in the picture, basically putting small circles down. I also use burnishing, which is a very heavy application of coloring. You can literally mix the colored pencil, just like mixing with acrylic paint,” Wyatt explained.
